I was honored to be the president of the Omani Student Organization at FIU for approximately two years. This leadership position has shaped my personality. Leading more than 40 members from different cities in Oman was challenging. I have learned that you cannot please everyone no matter what. Nonetheless, providing neoteric plans and activities helped me a lot to make at least half of them satisfied. Bringing the Omani culture to the US and celebrating every national  event with the people who are coming from the same background nourished our belonging to this terrific country. It is one of the best experiences that I have ever had. It connected me to people, made me closer to them, and let me be a huge source for many others in their different life aspects. They always knew that they got me and they always chose me as a resource. Glad to build this kind of relationship with the Omani colleagues.

women’s equality day

FIU’s DC Fly-Ins are three-day experiential seminars focused on exploring how policies are made, and what career opportunities exist in the capital for students passionate about a variety of issues. The itineraries consist of engaging conversations and experiences with experts across government, academia and industry. Each Fly-In includes an opportunity to draft policy solutions and to participate in advocacy meetings on Capitol Hill.
