The Global Medallion Program encourages students to develop an appreciation of alternative views. My experiences at FIU have allowed me to exercise this ability to place myself in a diverse atmosphere.  In addition, I have gained new valuable skills that I'm confident will propel me to success.

My global perspectives have increased, and now I am able to see both points of view and take other's views into consideration in regard to decision making. I am able to consider the other point of view and understand it and use the cross-cultural knowledge I have obtained and use it to build a bridge of awareness and understanding.

During my experience at FIU, my global awareness has truly awaken, I have been able to learn how to be very open and welcoming with different cultures, aspect that at the beginning was unknown for me. I started to understand how there are aspects and problems that are not unique from a culture, but that exist at a global scale and deserve to be treated as global as so. If it was not for the cultural impact that FIU had in my life, I would have not joined the program that was the one who taught me how the first step to solve is to be aware, and how by being aware of the global problems and situations we can get a step closer to do something about them.

In terms of my global engagement, I was able to demonstrate my competency of this element through multiple avenues during my time at Florida International University.

Overall, I have gained a new global perspective, am updated more with news across the globe and am much more comfortable sharing opinions with people from the experience and tips from the global learning events. I definitely enjoyed my global learning journey and would definitely encourage others to try it out and take advantage of all the opportunities that are available in this program.
